Once you meet Cody & Melissa, you know they are genuine people who are destined for one another. How do I know? The camera doesn’t lie. I watch through the viewfinder, and can see the respect, love, and authentic bliss they share for one another. Their wedding day was no different. It was a beautiful, vibrant July day, we were out in the Iowa countryside in Shelby, Iowa at the Willow Creek Chapel. The morning was full of laughter, music, and gorgeous bridal details.

Melissa, surrounded by her bridesmaids & family, put on a breaktaking dress that she helped design herself. Cody, surrounded by his groomsmen & ushers, played pool, drank beer, and dressed in a classic grey tux.

During their first look, there was a spark in their eyes & giant smiles on their faces.

Backing up Cody & Melissa, there was a large wedding party. This group was one of the most energetic, positive, fun, and helpful wedding parties I have ever encountered.

It was time to walk down the aisle, and Melissa was nothing but smiles. She had her father by her side & they walked into the stunning glass chapel. Guests stood and turned towards the bride, but her eyes were on the groom. Cody & Melissa vowed to one another to continue their love not through mere words, but with actions. Little mattered more than their promise to remain at each others’ sides. Always.

After the ceremony, it was time for a country wedding reception! Bring on the cowboy boots, beer can pyramids, and lots of dancing.

One of the couples that is pictured dancing together is Cody’s brother & his wife, that were photographed earlier this year by Meg & Scott. You can see Skye & Tyler’s stunning wedding here: Mr. & Mrs. Bakker – Take One

Before we sent Cody & Melissa off into wedded bliss, dancing & laughing the night away with their family & friends, we played in a field of poppies, sunflowers, prairie grasses, and other Iowa wildflowers at sunset. It was reminiscent of their first engagement session, last July, which can be seen here: Melissa + Cody: Omaha Engagement
